Admissions: Standard Editing
Standard Admissions Editing is the service for those who are feeling lost or frustrated and want step-by-step guidance through the writing process.
All North Star orders come with a comprehensive Grammatical Guarantee: should you find even a single grammatical mistake in your completed essay, then we’ll give you your money back. (To date, we’re at zero refunds and counting.)
Standard Editing also includes extensive email interaction and two 30-minute phone consultations with your editor. In contrast to our competitors, we’ll help you brainstorm, outline, draft, and revise; you’ll have our help every step of the way until your essay is ready to submit.
Don’t know where to start? Let’s work together to get you into the school of your dreams.
To get started, follow these simple steps:
-
Deadline: When you check out, you'll be prompted to select your deadline. Most Standard Editing orders can be completed within two weeks, which allows for the full interaction outlined below. (If you need your revision sooner, please contact us to discuss your schedule.)
-
Scheduling: When you complete the payment process, your essay will be submitted to your editor automatically. (If you haven't written anything yet, then please submit your prompt, any rubrics or guidelines, and whatever thoughts you might already have.) Your editor will then contact you at the email address you provided during checkout to schedule your first phone session.
-
Phone Brainstorming: At the scheduled time, you will have a 30-minute brainstorming session with your editor to select a topic and devise a drafting strategy.
-
Outline: After your brainstorming session, your editor will send you an outline to guide you through the next steps in the writing process.
-
First Draft: Write a draft based on our outline and return it to your editor via email.
-
Phone Critique: You and your editor will schedule and hold a second 30-minute phone consultation.
-
Final Revision: We'll polish, proofread, and return your final draft to you via email.
-
Follow-Up: After you receive your final draft, you can email your editor with any follow-up questions you may have.
